The weather in Algonquin Park has become refreshingly cooler. This morning a damp mist blankets the lake. This morning the mamma moose and her mooslings in the Emable Du Fond river are enjoying the weather as they munch on early water lilies.
The wild roses that are in bloom for the next few weeks truly awaken my senses with an amazing frangrance. As I paddle towards the mouth of the river, my nose sticks up to gather in all the sweet aroma I can. After all, I won’t get to sample this beautfil essence of Algonquin Park again until next year, so each trip down the river I encourage those I paddle with to take it all in: sights, sounds, and smells.
