Five Algonquin Park resorts for all kinds of travellers

Canada’s most famous provincial park is on the bucket list for many, and while there was once a time that camping was your only option to take in the beauty of Ontario’s expansive wilderness – times have changed. Everything from rustic cabins to high-end Algonquin Park resorts are available in and around the park.

With all of our energy here at Northern Edge Algonquin focused on creating, hosting and facilitating epic group retreat experiences rather than resort stays, we figured we could spread the love and share some of our other favourite Algonquin Park resorts for all kinds of travellers.

1. Retreats & Resort Stays for Groups at Northern Edge Algonquin

First off, lets dive into what it is we do here at the Edge! A leader in transformational travel, Northern Edge’s facilitators and hosts specialize in co-creating unforgettable group retreat experiences. Be it a corporate retreat, yoga or wellness retreat, family or class reunion you are planning, there is no doubt you will be enchanted by the magic of the Edge. While we do not offer individual cabin rentals or camping, our lakeside property and forest accommodations make for the perfect setting for groups to gather, learn, grow, celebrate, nourish themselves with organic and locally-sourced meals crafted with care by Chef Gregor and participate in a variety of tailored experiences on the edge of Algonquin Park.

2. Backcountry canoe trips with Driftwood Paddle

Driftwood Paddle is locally owned and operated by our friends the Kelly Brothers. They offer guided backcountry canoe tripping into Algonquin Park. Each trip is tailored to the particular group’s needs, size and desired intensity. Whether you are on the hunt for an off the beaten track adventure or a leisurely paddle, they’re happy to accommodate all kinds of trip styles.

3. Family friendly adventures at Voyageur Quest

Canoe trips, lodge adventures and cottage and cabin rentals are some of the family-friendly Algonquin Park resort offerings at Voyageur Quest, just down the road from the Edge. The adventure-based offerings are ideal for active families but suitable for experience levels of all kinds and the cabin rentals can be accented with canoeing, SUP boarding, swimming, fishing, and hiking the Forgotten Trails. Open year round.

4. Romantic resort getaways at Algonquin Lakeside Inn & Restaurant

Situated on Oxtongue Lake, Algonquin Lakeside Inn & Restaurant borders Algonquin Provincial Park with lakeside adult resort accommodations including waterfront rooms, honeymoon suites, rental cottages with amenities like Jacuzzi tubs, private patios and more. Bicycle trails, fall colours, bird watching, nature photography, fishing, and area galleries, craft stores and museums make it a great stop for a romantic couples getaway.

5. Algonquin Park Weddings at Arowhon Pines

Located on Little Joe Lake, Arowhon Pines is another five star Algonquin Park Resort which has been operating since the early 90s.
