Indian Summer – Algonquin’s Extended Autumn breeze

Fall update from the Edge!
A period of mild weather occurring in late autumn is often referred to as Indian Summer. It’s here and it’s amazing. Late afternoon walks in the forest are truly special. We are enjoying trail walks on the colourful fallen maple leaves, while the golden colours of the birch blaze on for another week or so. After the leaves are down, the Tamarack turn golden in one final blaze of colour before they drop their needles.

Traditionally Thanksgiving at the Edge is the end of the peak of Fall Colours in Algonquin Park, but this year it came a bit sooner. Although colours are on the decline in the hills, the colours are on the ground as the smell of leaves fills the air.

Staff at the Edge wish our guests, family and friends a Happy Thanksgiving weekend….

oh, and Go Tigers!
