Steward, Meal-Crafter

Alistair began his journey at Northern Edge Algonquin as an intern after studying Recreation and Leisure at Canadore College in North Bay. Upon completion of his internship Alistair was invited to stay on with us to do some adventure guiding in Algonquin Park, assist with with facility development, and he has since taken on an expanded role in the Edge kitchen.

Alistair found great inspiration in 2009 when he lived in Kenya for a month, distributing medical and educational supplies and livestock to the local villages. He also gained a lot of worldly experience a few months later, when he lived in Scotland and operated a wood fire pizza oven for the summer. (a skill that comes in handy at the Edge, home to our Roman Black Oven.)

Alistair loves living in the North with his family, and is right at home in the kitchen: anybody lucky enough to have their mealtime catered by Alistair is in for a treat.

Alistair feels most alive when he is traveling, canoe-tripping, renovating, and attending concerts and music festivals.
